Description & Use: Ground mixed spice, or pudding spice, is a classic ingredient in British cooking and is most immediately associated with sweet dishes, especially those featuring dried fruit or apples, and it is a key ingredient in Christmas pudding and mince pies.  The blend is also popular in the United States, where it is known as pumpkin pie spice, reflecting its most common use there.

Our organic ground mixed spice mix is a traditional mixture of cinnamon, cassia, coriander, nutmeg, ginger, allspice and cloves with the added warm hint of fragrant cardamom seeds.  The sweet blend lends itself to making fruit cakes and biscuits or being sprinkled on stewed fruits and crumbles, but it can be used in savoury dishes too.  Try adding it to breadcrumbs, onions and sausage meat in a stuffing for poultry. Mix it with honey and mustard as a glaze for baked gammon, or use it as an alternative to Chinese five spice in stir-fries or as a seasoning for roast pork.
